ClimMani Meta-database
Search Experiment
Here you can search for certain experiments – if you for example wants to synthesise all the globally known warming experiments who measured soil respiration and therefore need to get in contact with the PIs and get access to the data.
You can search the meta database by country, project, site, treatment and response and contact person.
Select the combination of search criteria from the drop down boxes.
Add Experiment
Here you can add your project/site to the database.
You can add your site/project to the meta database. You will have to provide information about (stars indicate mandatory information):
Country *
Site name *
Project name *
Treatments *
Available measurements grouped into *
Site characteristics
Soil responses (including water and gas exchange)
Vegetation responses (including leaf gas exchange, genetics etc.)
Data availability *
Contact person *

The inputs are selected from a drop down list of what is already in the database, or you can define a new input if needed.
Update Experiment
Here you can update the information already added to the database about you or your experiment
You can modify and update the information in the database about you or your project/site. If for example you have started a new treatment or a new response measurement since the project was added the first time, or the data availability or contact person has changed.
Select your project/site from the drop down box and change the information you want to change.
Treatment
Select the treatment from the drop down box – or add a new treatment if your treatment does not exist (but only if absolutely necessary (see below)).
BE AWARE – One of the ideas of the database is to make overviews of many “similar” projects. If you define a new treatment for your experiment which no one else has, you are less likely to appear on the general search lists and thereby to be “compared”. This is OK if your treatment is unique, but if you did a warming study with night time warming and wants to specify this in the treatment overview as “night time warming” instead of just “temperature”, you will not appear on the list if someone search for “temperature”. We therefore encourage you to use rather “generic” and “broad” terms and select from the existing categories in the list if at all possible and instead add the details in the comments and additional information boxes.
Responses
Responses and measurements carried out associated with experiments are put into three categories:
Site characteristics
Soil responses
Vegetation responses
These categories come in three consecutive pages. Some responses may be overlapping two of the categories
– choose the one you feel represents best.
Select the response measurements by checking off the appropriate boxes – or add a new response if your response measurement
does not exist (but only if absolutely necessary (see below)).
BE AWARE – One of the ideas of the database is to make overviews of many “similar” projects.
If you define a new response which does not, you are less likely to appear on the general search
lists and thereby to be “compared”. This is OK if your response is unique, but if you for example
measured soil respiration by chambers and wants to specify this in the treatment overview as
“soil respiration – static chambers” instead of just “soil respiration”, you will not appear on the
list if someone search for “soil respiration”. We therefore encourage you to use rather “generic” and
“broad” terms and select from the existing categories in the list if at all possible and instead add
the details in the comments and additional information boxes.
Contact person
Add the main contacts person in the box and additional contacts persons in the additional information list
